Albert Road Osteopaths was established in 1984 by Jane Easty to provide osteopathy to the people of Tamworth and the surrounding areas. Patients come from as far afield as Walsall, Nuneaton, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield. We are proud to say that the vast majority of our new patients come to us by GP or health visitor referral, or by personal recommendation from existing patients. We commonly treat several generations in families from babies of a few days to the elderly.
We have 5 osteopaths who work as a team offering a range of osteopathic treatments to patients of all ages. Many people relate osteopathy to back pain but this is only a part of what we do. what is osteopathy? Osteopaths treat individuals rather than just conditions and take into account all aspects of a patient’s history, health and lifestyle before diagnosis and treatment.
Most new patients come to us by recommendation from existing patients, midwives, GPs or other healthcare professionals. This is because we are often able to assist recovery where other treatments have failed. Osteopathy is a holistic therapy that works with the inherent capacity of the human body for self-healing.
Albert Road Osteopaths is a family practice. We treat newborn babies, children and adults of all ages and firmly believe that anyone can benefit from osteopathic treatment.
Jane Easty has gathered a strong team of osteopaths who treat patients of all ages and all levels of fitness, from all walks of life using a combination of osteopathic techniques, such as manipulation, cranial and visceral osteopathy. All our osteopaths are committed to the ongoing study of osteopathy and the development of their own skills by attending regular postgraduate training courses and by working as a team.
Collaborative learning is an important feature of our practice where the osteopaths work together to continuously develop their skills for the benefit of patients. If your osteopath is unavailable when you need treatment you can confidently book with another member of our team and know that your treatment plan will be discussed in advance of your appointment.
Occasionally the osteopaths will offer a patient a double treatment (this is done at the discretion of the osteopath) when trying to resolve a difficult or unusual problem. This is advantageous for the patient as double treatments can be highly effective and for the osteopaths it is an opportunity to share experience and knowledge. If you are offered a double treatment you will pay only one fee.
Patients are given more general advice about how to be as healthy as they can be. This depends entirely on the patient’s individual needs and lifestyle but may well include information about exercise, posture and diet.
We run a mother and baby clinic once a fortnight and offer free post-partum checks for mothers and babies within 3 months of the birth (examination and advice is given but treatment is not included).
We have available emergency and evening appointments.
If your osteopath is not available when you need treatment you may see another member of the osteopathic team. We also run a very effective cancellation list.
